Omphalocele, 2014
Car motor, chicken wire, wood, arduino coding, fur, resin, matte medium
This project, titled Omphalocele (meaning a form that contains individual’s organs on the exterior of its body) is an abstract piece dealing with ideas of organic forms. It’s made from mesh, rubber, and fur. Inside the piece a car motor pulls a cord in and out to create the bottom half of the piece to fold up and down. For the circuit of the piece I used two relays, one to control the direction and the other to control the power.
